Hi folks.

I just returned from a week at the beach. Tokio and I visited a
little place called La Bocana.
It really is a wonderful place. A river runs out of the mountains and
into ocean and where the two
meet is called La Bocana. It's a tropical place so it's very hot all
the time but you can walk down the beach
and bath in the lagoon and enjoy the thousands of birds that migrate
to this spot every year.

The best food around is fish served at hut on the beach by Bulfredo,
who also catches it in the morning.

Because the shore faces south at the bottom of Mexico you get a
wonderful sun rise and sunset
I got up early one day to try and capture the feeling of that.

There is a nice little town about twenty minutes away called
Crucecita where you can buy
great tacos and cerveza and watch the locals hang out in the town
square. Muy tranquillo.

Below is a link to some of the photos I shot at La Bocana.

Yesterday I went to a rodeo in a small town near Oaxaca, I chose not
to sign up for the bull riding
because I thought that I might void my travel insurance by doing so.
Otherwise I'm sure I would have gone
for it. | ;- )

I am going to try to post new photos to my website as often as
possible, so check in to that link above every once in awhile
to see what I'm up to.

Steve,

Is this the same La Bocana where they do the mud baths?

We are coming down on April 18th, but do not know how to get to this place from the Gala Resort.

Thanks for any help,
Ron

Hi Ron- It's easy to get to La Bocana from the Gala. Just ask any of the taxi drivers outside the hotel and they can take you there. I don't know what the cost is but I'm sure it's worth it. While I've been to Huatulco many times I've not yet gotten there, but I'm hearing more and more about the area.
