Big meetings in Huatulco (is that possible) spelt out the government's commitment to the Oaxaca - Salina Cruz toll road and the widening and straightening of the Salina Cruz - Huatulco road.

Puerto Escondido is to have it's own road from Oaxaca City for some bizzare reason only know to Oaxaca City governmant officials.

Why a second rate resort like Puerto which is good for about 2 days max gets this kind of attention I don't know. Still it's another route to the lovely city of Oaxaca I guess.

Driving time approx 2 1/2 - 3 hours on all routes (currently about 7 hours).

Oaxaca City is one of my favorite cities in the world, I cannot wait to get back there. Living in Huatulco hit a new dimension.

Hi-

I was wondering how long the bus ride is from Oaxaca City to Huatulco. My husband and I will be visiting next month. We are interested in buying a small investment property in Huatulco and would like to visit.

Bus ride is about 7 hours. Flying is much more simple but more expensive.

Governor Ulises was on the radio. They are starting a 4 land highway from Huatulco to Puerto Escondido.
