Hola Johnx2 and others,

We haven't stayed at the Crown Pacific for a number of years. However, the pool is still on the 7th floor with a great view of the ocean. They also have a beach club a about 100 yards from their front door which you can walk to or take a shuttle. Rooms on the 9th and 10th floor are very nice. A lot of people are staying at the Crown Pacific and you can find Trip Reviews on many web sites.

Hola JohnX2,

I just think 7th floor or higher are the better rooms. If we were to go back to a resort, we would do the 7th floor because a pool and bar are readily available.

Most eating is done at the ground level or so. You take a "horizontal tram" inside the resort down the hillside from about the seventh foor to the ground floor. We had breakfast each morning on the ground floor in a lovely setting with a personal chef available to fix our food the way we wanted it or to use the buffet. However, I don't know what arrangement the current management is using. Most evening meals were at the Beach Club which also had a nice pool and a restaurant.

Don't forget to try a couple other beaches at least one day. You are very close to two or three of them. Just back a bag with some sun screen, water, and a towel(s) and explore a bit. Oh . . . and try to take your own snorkel and mask with you so you have freedom to move about. Just a suggestion.

Huatulco is a laid back, small town, kind of place and does not have the glitter or volume of tourists of other places. The resorts are nice but not real fancy, except for about two of them that are real expensive. However, almost all of the resorts are on the SAME beach. The real nice part of Huatulco is exploring up and down the coast a bit because it is cheap and safe. Of course, if you need to stay near the resort because of children, etc., then a good day by the pool with a book Cool or on the beach is just fine.

Hope it all goes well for you . . . those who enjoy Huatulco usually come back many times . . . and then the day trip to Old Santa Marie Huatulco is another story . . . or to the villages in the mountains beyond it Smile

Hola JohnX2
My wife, myself and two friends are going to the Crown Pacific in March 2006 for two weeks. We would very much appreciate any insights you could pass on as to what are the best rooms and other info on interesting activities or restaurants etc. that you could pass on. Hope you had a great vacation.

excellent hotel if you want to be by the pool with no one around ask for the 7th floor,if you like the beach ask for 1st ,there is a pool also by the beach with bar service at both all rooms have big balconies with excellent views,we were on the first floor and requested the seventh when we checked in and they told us to come back in 2 days and then we could move to 7th,,2 days later we changed are mind and stuck with the first, closer to the beach,,,ps bring a travler coffee mug with you great to keep drinks cold in the sun
