Huatulco

Hi, I'm going to be in Puerto Escondido for the whole month of July, and wanted to make the trip to huatulco and stay somewhere near barra de la cruz for about a week or two. I've been to Puerto before but didn't leave town so I'm not too familiar with the area. I was wondering if you have any info on a cheap place to stay near barra and the best way to get there by car from puerto escondido ( i might rent one in puerto escondido) if not how do i get there by bus. Also does anybody know where to rent cars in huatulco in case i decide to catch the bus there and then renting a car when I get there. Any info would help. thanks. Pedro

Barra de la Cruz rooms for rent are a bit on the basic side. They are cheap though at around 200 pesos a night. No fans, no walls ... that kinda vibe.

There are some rooms nearby on another surf beach that are around 800 pesos ... rooms with beachfront view and swimmimg pool.

You get what you pay for.

car hire is a bit hit and miss, but hertz in Tangolunda (the hotel zone) will help you out.
